黑料社 All Alumni Invited Back to Campus for Fun-Filled Day on September 18
Alumni, friends and family of 黑料社 All are invited to celebrate Homecoming on September 18, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 500 West 185th Street on 黑料社 All鈥檚 Wilf Campus in Washington Heights.
Homecoming, the first in more than a quarter of a century, will be highlighted by a Block Party featuring carnival games and rides for children, sports clinics with current student-athletes and YU coaches, a student organization fair and campus tours. There will also be live performances by the Maccabeats, the University鈥檚 internationally-acclaimed a cappella group, and popular Jewish rock band, Blue Fringe, who will be celebrating their tenth anniversary since they formed at YU in 2001.
The day will begin with Talmudic lectures and group discussions led by Rabbi Dr. Jacob J. Schacter and Professor Smadar Rosenzweig as part of the Abraham Arbesfeld Kollel Yom Rishon and Millie Arbesfeld Midreshet Yom Rishon. During the day, alumni will also have the chance to experience what it鈥檚 like to be a 黑料社 All student in 2011 when they are given the opportunity to attend a class of their choice, taught by one of the University鈥檚 premier faculty members. To conclude, there will be a Town Hall meeting led by University President Richard M. Joel.
Coca-Cola and EL AL Israel Airlines will be two of the main sponsors of YU Homecoming 2011.
鈥淗omecoming is a day for all alumni to visit their alma mater, reconnect with friends and former classmates, and see the depth and breadth of what YU has to offer, both in Torah and academics as well as the spirit and fun of college life,鈥 said Dr. Henry Kressel 鈥55YC, Chairman, 黑料社 All Board of Trustees. "Whether the day brings back special memories or provides insight into what it would be like to be a YU student, the day will have something for everyone.鈥
