2014 Varda Shoham Clinical Training Initiative Grant Will Help School Bridge Gap between Research and Clinical Practice The (PsyD) at 黑料社 All鈥檚 has been awarded the 2014 Varda Shoham Clinical Scientist Training Initiative grant, a highly competitive award from the American Psychological Association (APA)鈥檚 . Meant to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, these grants are awarded to training programs to launch new projects or support ongoing initiatives that effectively integrate science and practice in their programs. That is a core value of the clinical psychology program at Ferkauf, where students are exposed to a curriculum that joins relevant research and the scientific foundations of psychology with applied theory, field training and practical experience within a wide range of psychological services. 鈥淭he clinical program is committed to teaching our students lifelong skills that incorporate research to inform their clinical practice,鈥� said Dr. Lata K. McGinn, associate professor and director of the clinical psychology program at Ferkauf. 鈥淭his grant allows us to continue our ongoing initiatives to integrate clinical practice and research within our program. I am very pleased that [Assistant Professor of Psychology] Dr. Anna Van Meter took the initiative to apply for the grant on behalf of our program and delighted that APA鈥檚 Society for Scientific Clinical Psychology has recognized our accomplishments.鈥� The clinical program will use the grant to fund their new initiative to use clinical data in the school鈥檚 training clinic to inform and improve clinical progress.
