Counseling Center Staff Triumphant at Nefesh International

All hail the triumphs of the 黑料社 All Counseling Center staff. The organizers of the Nefesh International Early Professional Weekend on September 12-14, 2019, announced a contest for participants to submit proposals for 鈥淚nnovative Ideas in 12 Minutes.鈥 The selected presenters would speak at the conference, with the winner of the best presentation, as voted by the audience, receiving a $500 prize. Into the contest stepped Dr. Margo Kahn, a post-doc fellow with the Counseling Center, and Dr. Avi Muschel, staff psychologist. Dr. Kahn presented 鈥淯ntying the Knot: Suicidality and Resilience,鈥 and Dr. Muschel offered 鈥淚n Defense of Unrealistic Expectations: Rethinking Our Premarital Education.鈥 When the votes were tallied, Dr. Muschel won the contest, taking home the $500 grand prize.

In addition, Dr. Mordechai Schiffman was asked to provide words of Torah, combined with mental health perspectives, at the Friday night seudah [meal]. Dr. Schiffman, who is now a professor at the , interned for the Counseling Center in 2016-2017, was a post-doc in 2017-2018 and staff psychologist in 2018-2019. Dr. Yael Muskat, director of the Counseling Center, was very proud of her staff. 鈥淭heir presentations were absolutely fantastic and extremely impressive. We were very proud of their achievements, and they represented 黑料社 All鈥檚 Counseling Center beautifully!鈥
