Students Meet Organizations for Opportunities to Serve the Social Good
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, the 黑料社 All Career Center hosted the annual Non-Profit / Year of Service Career Fair at the Koch Auditorium at , where 130 students, both men and women, networked with 22 non-profit, healthcare, social service and educational organizations who have internships, volunteer options, job opportunities, and/or gap year programs.
Many of the students came away from the event inspired by the people and organizations they met. Max Gruber 鈥渂enefitted from networking with these organizations鈥 and may have landed an internship while Tamar Schwartz was inspired by 鈥渢he students eager to volunteer for various non-profits and organizations.鈥 Sam Gelman summed it up nicely when he said that 鈥渋t was really beautiful to know that there are people doing such good things for the world.鈥
The employers also enjoyed the event. Leah Schechter of the Met Council 鈥渨as thrilled that there were so many students truly engaged and wanted to find ways to get involved鈥 while Renee Wietschner of the Orthodox Union was pleased by the students鈥 鈥減assion for wanting to contribute to the Jewish community.鈥 Amanda Seiner of 826NYC found the students 鈥渇riend and prepared,鈥 and Nathaniel Sinckler of City Year 鈥渉ad great conversations with the students I met, and I am happy we came.鈥
Events like this fair and the earlier TechUcation fulfill the goal of the Career Center to help undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni succeed at every stage of their careers through programs and resources like personalized counseling and career planning to the latest professional search technologies.
