Students Focus on Making the Right Post-Graduation Moves
On Friday, April 5, 2019, at Wilf Campus鈥 Furst Hall, the 黑料社 All Career Center hosted its Student Leadership Breakfast and Spring Career & YU Graduate School Fair. This year brought a notable change. 鈥淎lthough the Career Fair has been a staple of Career Center programming for many years,鈥 noted Todd Lotcpeich, director of employer and alumni relations, 鈥渢his is the first time we formerly collaborated with five of YU鈥檚 graduate schools to focus on their graduate programs.鈥 The expanded event presented students with an excellent opportunity to network and learn more about possible career paths as well as what YU graduate schools have to offer.
On the employment side, more than 40 attending organizations from public and private businesses to non-profits were represented this year, including a cross-section of industries: public relations, healthcare, education, finance, real estate and technology. Students met one-on-one with prospective employers from such organizations as IBM, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Steinreich Communications, MassMutual and the Jewish National Fund. The result: more than 125 soon-to-be-graduates discovered new opportunities and resources for internships, full-time and part-time employment and post-graduate studies.
鈥淲e鈥檙e pleased this year鈥檚 event continued the Career Center鈥檚 ongoing mission to bring the best opportunities to YU students,鈥 said Lotcpeich. 鈥淢y expectation is that a good many of our student participants found the connections and resources to further their goals, whether those goals are pursuing graduate studies at YU or landing a dream job. Our aim was to point students in the right direction so that they can find for themselves the perfect post-graduation destination.鈥
